Joelle Stabile Rehberg, DO, FAOASM, is an experienced primary care and sports medicine specialist at Family and Sports Medicine Institute of NJ in Summit and Montclair, New Jersey. with over 30 years of experience in sports medicine.
Dr. Rehberg is a Fellow of the American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine (FAOASM), and earned a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine (CAQSM). She completed her Primary Care Sports Medicine fellowship through the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine at Union Hospital. Her training involved working with Kean University and Seton Hall University's athletic departments and several local high schools. She also provided coverage for WWE as well as the XFL.
Dr. Rehberg completed her residency in Family Practice at Christ Hospital and St. Francis Hospital in Jersey City. She graduated from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey -School of Osteopathic Medicine (now Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine) and received a Bachelor of Science from Seton Hall University, where she worked in the Sports Medicine Department.
Dr. Rehberg started her practice years working in primary care in Montville, New Jersey. She then worked as a concussion specialist at the Center for Concussion Care at Atlantic Health at Overlook Hospital. She has also worked as the non-surgical spine specialist at Atlantic Neurosurgical Specialists, specializing in the non-surgical treatment of spinal patients. Dr. Rehberg has been the District Physician for the Montville Township Board of Education since 2001.
Dr. Rehberg has lectured at the national and local levels on musculoskeletal care and concussion management and has recently co-authored the updated version of ConcussionWise™, an online educational tool for athletes, parents, and coaches. Dr. Rehberg is co-author of Cram Session in General Medical Conditions: A Handbook for Students and Clinicians, which has been published in Clinics in Sports Medicine.
Dr. Rehberg's interests include all acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions, specializing in non-operative spinal care, and sports related concussion management. She is dedicated to caring for all athletes and has a special interest in Women's Musculoskeletal Health.
Dr. Rehberg is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, is a member of and board-certified by the American College of Family Physicians (ACOFP), and is a member of the American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine and the American College of Sports Medicine.
